The Union County Vocational-Technical School District is dedicated to advancing the learning and wellness of all students. The district ensures high standards and challenging opportunities through the integration of academic and technical training. Through their experiences, students develop confidence, character, and leadership skills. Educational opportunities also exist on full- and part-time schedules for post-secondary and adult learners.
The Union County Vocational-Technical Adult School provides educational opportunities for adults to acquire technical skills for a new career, enhance existing skills, or enrich their personal lives. Full-time post-secondary career programs are focused to help students train in a condensed time frame of 10 months. Part-time schedules also are offered for a range of courses.

Funding from Amazon, AT&T, NJM Insurance Group, PKA Technologies, PSEG, SHI International Corporation, South Jersey Industries (SJI) and VMWARE totaled $90,250 to the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) Foundation this year to distribute as scholarships to county vocational-technical school graduates.

New rankings from U.S. News & World Report put 13 county vocational-technical high schools in the top 25 New Jersey high schools and two of those schools place in the top 50 high schools nationally.

Grasheen Burns of Rahway enjoys his career as a licensed electrician working with IBEW Local 102 Electrical Union, whose members have been meeting electrical needs across New Jersey and Pennsylvania for more than 120 years. Burns said his education at Union County Vocational-Technical Schools (UCVTS) helped him realize his dream career and gave him the tools to succeed in the field.
